Project Villa Rossa was the renovation of the old (1907) and historical Villa Rossa building to a boutique hotel as well as the connection of the building with the hotel Rosanea and the cliff surrounding it.

A new landscape plan was drawn including  the main entrance, the outdoor areas and the connection with the cliff and the sea.

The main entrance was pinpointed by planning and planting and signals were drawn, too, according to the new character of the building.

A new door-entrance on the back facade of Villa Rossa joined the two building functionally giving a second way for Rosanea to reach the sea.

The new reception of the whole was placed in the ground-floor of Villa Rossa designed as a museum as well as small gallery-giftshop for visitors of Parga acheter du viagra en france.

The first floor of the building was transformed to a luxury hotel with precision of detail on furniture and lighting.

On the whole the goal was to pinpoint all interesting architectural elements of the historical building. Reclaimed material was treated carefully for new narration in space.

This house is a summer residence for a young couple who required a spacious and uncluttered setting. It is located on a steep hillside by the main road of a small village overlooking olive groves and vineyards.
I opted to separate the indoor spaces into three main volumes in order to lessen the overall visual impact of the house and give a clear indication of its inner structure. This strategy allows for all spaces to have varied openings and it also creates free-flowing circulation which brings the outdoor terraces and the indoor spaces into dialogue.
All volumes are at different levels which correspond to the natural slope of the terrain giving the house a strong footing in the landscape but also creating intricate spatial conditions on the inside.
Materiality is limited to concrete, wood and metal while the outer surfaces are rendered with a thick coat of beige plaster (similar to clay) which gives the house a strong yet playful quality especially when perceived against the background of trees, ground and passing clouds.

The plot, in which the building is situated, is located in a mostly residential area.
The form and the orientation of the plot and the existing wall of the neighboring block to the west determined the decision to place the new building in contact with the existing one placing its stairwell between them.
The owner wanted to create apartments of different sizes. This determined the architectural decision.
The basic rectangular volume is shaped according to the movement of the sun (east-west).
The most of the exterior spaces are placed in the south to enhance the interaction with the sun.
A concrete wall covers the private spaces of the first and second floor and at the same time defines the veranda of the apartment of the third floor.
Panels of the same material protect the balconies of the north side.
Metal is used in different ways; for protection as the pergola in the veranda of the third floor or for blinds on the edges of some balconies.

It consists of two plain geometric volumes, the one at a floor higher than the other. The lowest is defined by a concrete wall in gamma (Γ) shape.
The entrance is placed on the intermediate level, that contains the areas intended for family life and open to the balcony, a space protected from the strong wind of the site.
From this level one can go down the stairs to find the bedrooms or go up to the office on the loft.
The materials are concrete, metal and wood.

The factors that influenced the project’s design were the inclining ground, the exceptional view over the Aegean Sea as well as the strong northeastern winds of the region.
The access to the plot is on the upper part. Therefore the first facade of the house is the one of the lofts being attached to the landscape.
The first step was the separation of the studio from the main residence.
The two main volumes are combined through a protected yard, a space through which one enters the inner spaces.
The materials are natural and artificial stone (concrete), wood and concrete for the floors.
